Jennifer Lopez was originally born to her Puerto Rican mother and father in 1969. Lopez studied dance throughout her early years. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in an appearance on the show My Little Girl, 1986. Then, in 1991, she earned her first big break when she was an actor on In Living Color. Lopez was the main character in the crime procedure drama Shades of Blue (2016) in which she played an officer who is ambivalent. She played a comic character in Second Act, a comedy about a woman who gets granted a dream job in the Manhattan law firm by her acquaintances after they embellished her resume. Lopez joined a mostly female ensemble in Hustlers (2017), about strippers who swindle wealthy clients. In 2022 she starred in two comedies about marriage. In the movie Marry Me the protagonist, a budding pop star, after discovering that she's being cheated on by her husband, decides to wed a mathematician that was in her concert. Shotgun Wedding is an action-packed film about a wedding that is ruined when guests are taken hostage. The bride and groom are forced to save the hostages.
